Description
This special boy is looking for a loving home. Meet Gatete, he was rescued from the street last year and over the past few months he has been through a lot. He caught pneumonia but after treatment and lots of care, he has made a great recovery and has been thriving in a foster home.
Despite everything he’s been through, he is incredibly friendly, gentle and good-natured. He is affectionate and loves human company and what he really needs now is a warm, safe forever home with someone to love him.
He has calicivirus, which means in times of stress he may sometimes suffer from inflamed gums, sneezing or runny eyes. He will carry the virus for life but most cats live long and happy lives with this condition. It does mean he would ideally be the only cat in the home or live with other cats who already have the virus. However, it is possible to vaccinate kittens against the virus. Calicivirus is very common and the majority of cats will contract it at some point in their lives so don’t let this put your off adopting this gorgeous boy. He is 2.5 years old, castrated, negative for FELV and FIV, vaccinated and wormed.
Please get in touch if you’d like to meet him. He will have to leave his foster home soon and return to the pound. We would prefer him to go straight to his forever home to minimise the risk of pneumonia returning.
